FUN RUN GUIDELINES
Please note that for accountability reasons, we must keep a thorough record of all booklets (with or without money) given out and returned. We are ALL responsible for this.
The Fun Run will take place on Thursday 26th April in the morning session. Students are to return their Fun Run Booklets and money raised by Friday 20th April. All Fun Run Booklets and money should be returned to the office as soon as it comes to school for processing.
Handout Fun Run Booklets to each student – names are written on the booklets so please give to the correct student.
Record on the class list that the booklets have been given then return the list to the office.
Remind students that ALL booklets must be returned even if the student is not going to fundraise or participate in the Fun Run. Advise students this is a legal requirement and therefore VERY important.
Remind students that they need to raise a minimum of $5 to compete in the Fun Run – they can ask parents if they can do chores to earn this money.
Put Fun Run Booklet in a safe place, e.g. Share Bag immediately, then give to parents as soon as they return home and explain about the Fun Run.
Ask parents to help keep the Fun Run Booklet in a safe place and remind parents that it is a legal requirement that it is returned to school even if the student will not be participating.
Ask parents for permission and support to participate in the fundraising or if they can do chores to earn a minimum of $5 so they can participate in the Fun Run.
Complete the Fun Run Booklet, including selecting a prize and return the Booklet and money to the school office by 20th April.
Read through the Fun Run Booklet with students and decide if and how they might engage in fundraising. This can be done online and can therefore involve friends or family who live further away. Students can also ask people they know (with the support of their parents) to sponsor them.
If you are not comfortable with your child fundraising, you might choose to have them do some chores to earn the money. Students need a minimum of $5 to participate in the Fun Run and a minimum of $10 to select a prize.
Assist your child to keep the Fun Run Booklet and any money collected in a safe place and to return it to the office. All Booklets and fundraising must be accounted for.
WHAT IS THE FUN RUN?
FUN RUN Thursday 26th April
Students will attend class in the morning. After the roll has been marked, students participating in the Fun Run will meet at the Hall. They will then participate in laps of the school and a range of fun activities. They will earn an icypole after completing a designated number of laps. Student prizes are distributed a couple of weeks after the Fun Run when all of the forms have been collated and processed by the organising agency.
Family members are welcome to volunteer to help at the Fun Run. We need monitors to mark off the laps and helpers to give out drinks and icypoles. Family members are also welcome to come along and cheer for your students as they undertake the Fun Run.
For any questions, or to volunteer to help, please contact Debbie Dodd at school or via email@example.com
ALL MONEY RAISED WILL BE UTILISED TO IMPROVE OUR SCHOOL’S FACILITIES AND RESOURCES FOR THE CHILDREN.
